SXS Lighting: Where It's Been and Where It's Going

Side-by-sides have come a long way in a short time. What started as utility vehicles for ranches and job sites evolved into some of the most capable and customized machines in off-road culture. And as the builds got more serious, so did the aesthetics.

The Standard

For years, the SXS lighting playbook has been the same: aftermarket headlights, LED bars, and whips. Whips in particular became a staple of dune culture — practical for visibility, but also a statement. Walk through Glamis on any weekend and you'll see hundreds of them.

The problem is they all start to look the same. A whip is a whip. Headlight kits follow the same formula. The machines themselves are unique, but the lighting doesn't reflect that.

The Gap

Look at how automotive lighting has evolved. Modern cars use LED signatures and light strips that follow body lines, create visual identity, and make a car recognizable from a distance. No two performance cars look the same at night.

That same evolution hasn't happened for SXS. Until now, no one has built a lighting system that follows the actual contours of the machine — front to back, flush mounted, integrated into the body lines themselves.

What's Next

That's exactly what TerraTrace is building. The TerraTrace System is the first full-contour LED lighting system designed specifically for the Polaris RZR Pro XP. It follows every body line of the machine — low profile, flush mounted, app-controlled. Built for the people who want their rig to look as individual as they are.

It's in development now. If you want early access when it launches, get on the list.

The next evolution of SXS aesthetics is coming. Built to Flex. Made to Glow.
